Cultural Shock When Traveling

Why do you travel? You want to experience the new things; you want to get away from the busy and chuffy life? You want to learn about the other culture? It does not matter what your reason why you are going to travel, you will still meet lots of new things which may shock you and one of the things is the culture.

First of all, from the point of view from a person who comes from a developing country, I was shocked when I came to New York. Everything here is totally different. They do not have any motorbike or even if they have, those motorbikes are much bigger than in Vietnam where I come from.

The first thing I shocked me is the traffic system. I come from the place where people say the traffic is the craziest in the world. However, I am used to it, I find it normal, and it is just different here. Everything is organized, everything is very fast. The cars here travel very fast, it is about 100 kilometers per hour while in Vietnam even on highway, cars travel at the speed of 60 kilometers and in the busy streets they travel only at 40 kilometers.

Also, in our country everything is messy, and we do not often follow the traffic rule that strict. People can cross the street even if we do not have crossing line. In our country, if people cross the street, other vehicle keep going as nothing happens. However, here if someone crosses the street, every vehicle will stop right away. It looks like they have problems. The first time I crossed the street, I was so surprised because I saw so many which were running stopped right away when they saw me. I thought maybe their cars had problems or anything like that.

Also, what surprises me is the cleanness of the streets. In our streets, we will see lots of trash or things like that along the way. People are eating, and then throw it right away on the street. People just do not care about their environment and act like that they will not be any problem out of them. However, here, I find people care more about their environment than ever. They eat, and then they put the can into the trash bin. I like it more than just throw them to any place on the street.

Secondly, I find the restaurant and markets here so different. In Vietnam, we have street life. You can buy anything you need on the pavement of the street, from grocery to food, from your house facility to anything. Whenever we are hungry and we need anything to eat, we just go out at the front of our gate, there are plenty of street restaurant and they are so cheap and delicious.

Also, for market, we can buy anything within 5 minute walk. Everything is very cheap and fresh. The fruit is sold within a day, the vegetable is also sold within a day. However, here is so different. I still cannot make myself used to the fast that we have to drive one hour to get to the market and usually the food here are frozen and we will have to buy food for a whole week, which means we will put them in a fridge for another week.

Fans of rock music will certainly not be disappointed with a trip to Phuket. The island has a vibrant live-music scene that covers most of the bases, from jazz through to good old rock n roll. If you'd rather mosh to rock than bop to dance beats, there are a few clubs and pubs you ought to know about.

Although it's something of a cliché on the island, Rock City on the beach road in Patong is an established rock club that caters to a primarily tourist clientele. As soon as you see the enormous gorilla above the entrance, you know you're in for a treat, and Rock City delivers.

Rock City is a fun kind of place with bands comprising of locals, Aussies, Swedes, Filipinos and so on. There are usually three or four bands on per night and each has a different style and character. You won't hear any original songs at this Phuket club, but you will be able to dance away to the links of Bon Jovi, Metallica, ACDC and Guns n Roses, as well as a few more-modern bands.

The majority of Phuket's rock clubs can be found in Patong. It usually takes a little stroll around the area to find somewhere playing live music. The quality of the bands varies considerably and there is an unhealthy obsession with the likes of Bon Jovi, but it's all in the holiday spirit and the drink are cheap and even the Thais seem to have a good time.

Hot and Cold in Nepal

When I first came to this country eons ago and told people I was from Nepal, I usually got two responses. The first one was more common and dealt exclusively with who, what or where Nepal was. The second was a common query from people who knew just enough about Nepal to be dangerous (A little knowledge.....). These people would always say how cold out it must be there specially in the winter. I would then have to go into detailed explanations about the "cold" in Nepal.

When I came to the US, it was at night in the month of December and the weather was extremely cold. I did not realize any place could be this cold. Next morning, when I woke up and saw the sun shining brightly, I thought that this was more like it. I walked out of the apartment in short sleeves and almost froze on the spot. I rushed back in and was taken to task by the doorman fro going out "without clothes." When I protested that the sun was out, he looked at me in a puzzled manner and said, "Yes, it's ten in the morning but still as cold as the Arctic." When I ventured to explain that the sun was out and it should have been warmer, he replied that the temperature would stay low because it was winter. Then it dawned on me that in the eastern and northern Unite States, the sun was only for lighting purposes and not for heating - winter time, of course. What a strange phenomenon! The sun here was used only as a big torch during the winter - helping people see their way about. I then had to recount to all those "cold" queries about Nepal by explaining that back home the sun not only gave light but also heat.

Most people who knew something about Nepal did so mainly because of Mt. Everest and the Himalayas(?) - please read my last article on this subject. Ergo, almost all of them thought that Nepal was another Antarctica, another frozen wasteland of snow and ice. I then had to explain in detail that Nepal bordered China and India. The northern part (Chinese border) was cold most of the time but warm during the summer. The "middle" part of the country was hot during Spring and Summer and also Fall and Winter when the sun came out. The southern part of the country that bordered India was HOT most of the year and still quite warm during the daytime in the winter months. This polemic left most baffled. They could not believe that a person could walk around in tees and shorts after about ten in the morning in Kathmandu. It was like my Russian acquaintance from Vladivostok who scoffed at people who used to speak of Siberia as the barren wasteland of chills and cold. The common retort seemed to be that it was what they had read from most dissidents ("exiled" writers). This innocent reply infuriated him and sent him into apoplectic fits.

So is Nepal COLD? That depends very much when you go there and which part of the country you go to. For those not up on your latitude and longitude, let me remind one and all that the latitude of Nepal is the same as that of the northern part of Florida. Is Florida a snowy wasteland? You tell me.

It is amazing that even in a world reeling from one financial crisis to the next, that some things just keep right on turning. Incidentally, the Ferris Wheel has lost it name and is now called the 'Observation Wheel'.

First you could begin with the Southern Star in Melbourne, Australia, a mere 120 metres high, built in 2008. It is the only large permanent ferris, oops, observation wheel in the Southern Hemishpere.

A quick dash across the South Pacific and you could drop into the exotic tropical island of Vanuatu, formerly known at the New Hebrides. This stop is really worthwhile as you visit the world's birthplace of extreme sport - the bungee jump on Ambrym Island. It is a truly mesmerizing sight, but not something you want to try for yourself. The vines are made by the jumpers, who hope and pray the vines are just the right length. Not too much to smack the diver into the ground, not too short they hit the 75 metre rickety bamboo tower. But just enough for the jumper's shoulders to sweep the ground under the tower.

Then drop into Singapore and take a spin on the Syngapore Flyer, also built in 2008, at a height of 165 metres tall. That is around a 54 storey building. A great ride if you can cope with the giddy heights.

The London Eye would make a great {{{fly over of the Thames river|stop}} next at 135 metres tall, which was Europe's tallest wheely in the not too distant past.

Mallorca, just a ferry ride from Barcelona or Valencia, offers what many are looking for in an ideal vacation getaway: sandy isolated beaches, quaint little villages, and a night life that won't stop. Most visitors flock to Mallorca for the Caribbean-like beaches.

This popular island destination has miles of walkable beach front. In many places the depth of the water grows so gradually that parents feel comfortable allowing kids to play with little supervision. You are also bound to hear several languages as you walk in and out of the sunbathers as Mallorca attracts visitors from far and wide, though mostly from northern Europe. Watch for the colored flags on the beaches which indicate whether it is safe to swim or not. Even if the beach looks lovely and calm to you, a red flag may indicate jelly fish. Precautions to Take When Traveling Solo

Traveling alone has its advantages and disadvantages, and can be dangerous if proper precaution is not taken. It can force the traveler to meet other people and to make friends, which can be good, depending on the person. You can go at your own pace and change your plans as and when you like. However, it can be lonely traveling alone and you often end up paying more in the form of single room supplements. And it can also be more challenging - especially if you are a woman traveling solo.

There are some basic steps you can take to ensure your solo trip is safe and enjoyable. Do some general research on your destination - you should have some idea of where your hotel is located; as well as the basic layout of the city or resort, and which areas of town that it might be best to avoid. Make a point not to look too much like a tourist. For instance, don't walk around with your camera, name tag or guidebook too visible; and try not to read your map in a public place.

ATMs can be found just about anywhere and offer a convenient way to access your cash. If you use an ATM while traveling alone, try to find one that is in a crowded or a public place; and if you are using one at night, try to choose one that is well lit. Take a few moments to check out your surroundings if you are using an ATM in an isolated spot; and once you have completed your transaction, don't linger in front of the ATM, leave the area as quickly as possible.

When you leave your hotel, carry just enough cash on you for that day - that way if you are robbed, you won't be completely broke. Make copies of your passport, plane ticket and any other important documents and keep the copies separate from the originals. Use a money belt and wear it inside your clothing, if you have to carry your passport or other valuables with you. Keep a tight grip on your wallet or purse in crowded places, and watch for the distraction tactics that many thieves employ.

Write down the name and address of your hotel - in English and the local language, if applicable - and carry it with you at all times. Rather than mispronounce the name of your hotel to a cab driver and perhaps be taken to the wrong destination, simply hand over the card. Always use licensed taxis - be particularly careful of unlicensed taxis at airports, train stations and major tourist attractions that will almost certainly overcharge you and are also illegal.

In many cities, public transportation is so good that you might not need to take a taxi. Be particularly careful with your purse, wallet or handbag when riding the bus, metro or subway. Try to wait in a well-lit area and board a car that is occupied by several people. Most city transit systems have easy to use route diagrams displayed; if you aren't sure where you are going, you should be able to read the map without making it too obvious that you are a tourist and not a local.

If applicable, try to take a hotel room that is on the first floor; that way there is less chance of your room being broken into. Always use the deadbolt lock to secure your door; you can also put a rubber doorstop under the door to further deter any would-be intruder. Avoid using the doorknob hang tab to order room service - it can leave the impression that you are alone in the room - just pick up the phone instead. Use the "Do not disturb" sign to prevent the hotel cleaning staff from entering your room unless you actually want them to.

Unfortunately, women still face many more challenges and dangers than men do when traveling alone. Some countries and parts of the world are particularly challenging for a single woman traveler, such as the Middle East; and in many places, the normal rules of behavior that apply at home just won't work. Try to do some research before you leave home and if in doubt, observe how the local women behave and react in particular situations.

Women in particular should be aware of their surroundings at all times. If you just don't feel comfortable, or are being pestered by somebody, be prepared to take refuge in a public building, hotel or large store - a tactic that almost always deters people. Be firm but polite if accosted on the street by homeless people, panhandlers, or people trying to sell something. Even if you aren't married, a wedding ring can be an essential device for fending off unwanted attention.

Traveling solo can be a rewarding experience - just take some basic precautions, avoid looking too much like a tourist, and your trip should be everything you hoped it would be!

This year's recession has left the travel industry nervous, not knowing just how far holiday sales will fall in 2009.

While some families have elected to enjoy a "stay-cation," a stay-home-vacation, many others have not let economic misfortunes impact their holidays time.

Some low-cost airlines have been working with travel agents to help increase their own business as well as retaining the agent's client base. Agents are able to offer their clients less expensive flights to and from many points in Europe, making the overall cost of their vacation less expensive.

The Original Berlin Ohio

The town of New Berlin, Ohio was originally laid out in 1831 by Samuel Bachtel and was situated on the Plain Township and Stark County line. German immigrants were the primary settlers of the community which was comprised of 23 property lots. The town remained fairly small throughout the 19th century with a little over 200 residents, but by the turn of the century, there were many agricultural endeavors in and around the town.

The interurban railroad that ran between Akron and Canton proved to be a catalyst for Berlin, Ohio linking with its surrounding communities, and the line ran right through the heart of town on Main Street. Because of the unpopularity of anything German during World War I, the name of the town was changed to North Canton in January of 1918. William H. "Boss" Hoover was a prominent citizen of the community at the time that owned a tannery, but soon changed his focus to manufacturing vacuum cleaners.

As Hoover's business grew, so to did the Berlin, Ohio and by 1930, he employed over 1,400 people out of a population of just over 2,600. During the latter part of the 20th century, the construction of I-77 caused another growth spurt and towards the end of the century, there were nearly 15,000 residents in the community.

A Personal Pilgrimage Into History

Genealogy is a hot topic for a lot of families. Finding ancestors and learning their stories can be fascinating as well as satisfying. We all have a story to tell, a book to write ... and someday - whether in the near or far future - someone will be researching us. They'll want to know who we were and what we did, where we lived and where we're buried. They'll want to know whose lives we touched and how they are linked to us.

A year or so ago, we took a trip to a town about two hours south of 'home' ... to try to find the house where my father was raised. I only knew it as '208' ... that's what it was called while I was growing up. By the time I was old enough to remember, granddad didn't live at '208' any longer, so I have no recollection of the house; but I do have a photo - a framed 8x10 that tells me my father was raised well. I had heard the story of my dad chipping away at the granite steps with a hammer - and granddad chasing him around the house two or three times before he finally caught my father. I had heard the story of the banister cap that was loose. Dad and his siblings used to leave each other notes and trinkets in the hollow under the cap. I heard about the bowling alley they set up in the basement, and the old ballroom on the third floor. It was a gabled house, built with old timber or oil money - a true Victorian, built sometime in the 1800's.

So we set off, knowing the town, the number, and something about a President. Washington? Lincoln? Jefferson? I couldn't remember, but I'd been there once with Mother, and I remember turning left off the main street. We'd planned to stop at the Historical Society to ask for information about the family, but they were closed on this particular Saturday afternoon. So we made a few turns, traveled the neighborhood in hopes of finding ... 208 Lincoln! There it is - on the corner - just like the picture! Still gabled, still regal, although it's been converted into apartments. Across the street is a new elementary school, but 208 Lincoln still stands. And there's still a chip in the step. We took photos, and had one framed together with the old one I had. History recorded for the next generations ...

Last fall, we set off again, this time to find the house Ed lived in as a boy on Long Island. We didn't really know if it would be there. He's been gone almost 50 years. It was another weekend pilgrimage to explore our roots and see what survives. This time, however, we have an aunt whom he hasn't seen in at least 30 years who can fill in some of the history 'blanks' in the memories. She showed us her wedding album - some of the last pictures of Ed's uncle, since he died shortly after they were married. It's a sad tale, but also a courageous one of a woman alone who survived, built a life and career, raised a child, and has a story of her own to tell. We visited the apartment building where the family lived before The War ... before dad bought a house on the GI Bill ... then we set off to find the house. It, too, was still there. The tree they planted when Ed was very small has grown stately, dwarfing the Levittown-like home. Across the street is a Taco Hut, not the neighbors Ed remembers, but the deli on the corner is still in business.

In each case, the weekend jaunt gave us a very real feeling of satisfaction and peace. While we were in both towns, New Castle PA and East Meadow NY, we also went to the cemeteries of our ancestors. Finding the graves of family members through several generations gave us a sense of connection, even though we'd not been there before and possibly won't go again. We placed flowers on Uncle Ed's grave - my Ed is his namesake, then we drove quietly away.

The value of our human connectedness is often lost in today's mobile, busy, me-first society. Although we spend time with family and friends, our American society - which is made up of each of us individually - has been trying to convince itself that life has no value beyond the present. From abortion (because we cannot experience the life that is being terminated) to cremation, we are wiping the records clear of lives that should be lived and recorded for future generations.

Every person has a connection to the whole that is our nation, our world. We are each a valuable, unique contributor. From the wisest statesman to the homeless person, the brightest scientist to the parents of the next generation - manager, laborer, inventor, salesman, scholar - we each have a story to tell ... a book to write. The stories of our personal experiences cannot be duplicated or replaced. We are unique. We each need to tell our stories, record our memories, label our priceless photos, and create a permanent place of remembrance for those who - generations from now - will make the pilgrimage to find their roots.

The Legendary city of Angkor

Angkor, the ancient capital of the Khmer Empire, where wondrous monumental buildings dot the area telling a tale of an ancient empire that flourished during the ninth century to the fifteenth century A.D. before falling into the hands of invading armies from Thailand. Frescos line the walls telling the stories of naval battles and daily life of the Khmers. Angkor is situated 7 km south of the modern town of Siem Reap. The Magical Taipei

Taipei, the capital of Taiwan, has evolved through many stages since its founding in the eighteenth century. Rice fields have yielded to skyscrapers, and a modern, commercial city of millions has grown out of once quiet settlements.

After climbing 508 metres up the Taipei 101 tower, the highest structure in the world, it can be seen easily from anywhere in the city, one can look down on the genuine Taipei amidst all the modern buildings: temples, markets, the National Palace Museum and in between them, the many old streets and lanes where everyday life in Taipei actually happens.

First steps

There was a swamp at the site of Taipei about 300 years ago, right where one of Asia's most modern cities now stands. Only the Pingpu, the original people of Formosa, who lived in the higher lying regions around the Taipei Basin, were able to reach this area by canoe.

Han Chinese from China came later to fish and trade, but they stayed on the banks of the Tarsui River and did not venture into the area of modern Taipei. In 1709, a Chinese farmer named Chen Lai Chang from Chuanchou laid the foundations of a farm house in Takala, which is now central Taipei. From that point onwards, the number of settlers continually grew. The original settlement was known as Manka.

From Manka to Tataocheng

The administration of Manka and the surrounding area was mainly handled by immigrants from various parts of mainland China. Because of differing views regarding the future of the administrative structure, tensions between the residents soon escalated. The violent confrontations that resulted came to an end in 1823.

One of the groups that was defeated fled from Manka, on the bank of the Tamsui River, to Tataocheng. There they began to make the land farmable land laid the foundations for a flourishing community. Tataocheng surpassed Manka in the nineteenth century, and became the centre of Taipei Prefecture in 1875.

Fast modernisation

When the Japanese colonised Taipei in 1895, they built their main district in Taipei, and the city continued to develop steadily thereafter, even after the departure of the occupiers in 1945 and after the break with mainland China. Within a hundred years, the once rural district had developed into the administrative, economic and cultural centre of Taiwan.

Manka, Tataocheng and Chengnei have all lost their original appearance, but a number of historically important sites have been preserved, including the Lin Family Villa and Garden, once the home of a very powerful clan in the nineteenth century, as well as the Peace Park and the 1919 Presidential Palace.

Modern city with established traditions

Today, all glass office high rises, luxury condominiums and modern shopping districts are situated along wide, tree lined boulevards. Elegant restaurants, stylish nightclubs and appearances by international stars are all part of people's lives. Yet the traditional culture and way of life carries on below the contemporary surface.

Everywhere you go, you stumble on timeless scenes: believers praying to their gods in ancient temples, long religious processions winding their way through the streets to the accompaniment of firecrackers, and little shops offering herbal medicines that have been relied upon for millennia. Clearly, this is one of the oldest cultures in the world.

Ha Long Bay Vietnam Romance

Ever since I saw the movie "Indochine," I've wanted to visit Ha Long Bay. I loved the haunting scenes where Camille and Jean Baptiste, her beloved French soldier (originally her adoptive mother's lover - it's a French film after all) float through the islands in a small junk. Camille's just killed a French soldier, they're fleeing the French army, and they're without food or water and are barely conscious, but it's all terribly romantic, like they are the last two people on earth, together at last.
My Ha Long Bay journey was not exactly cut from the same cloth. I was about 60 years too late for the sexy French soldiers. I took a package tour on a junk like everyone else, since it's the easiest and cheapest way to see Ha Long Bay from Hanoi. After researching a few companies and reading lots of stories on-line about nightmare trips, I booked a 3 day/2 night trip with Active Travel Vietnam.
The first leg of the journey was a 3 hour bus ride through the North Vietnamese countryside where highly industrial meets pre-industrial. After we left the urban sprawl of Hanoi, the road was lined with giant factory complexes. Our guide proudly pointed them out as examples of recent foreign investment. In between the factories, in between the houses, and seemingly in every available scrap of land are the green, green rice fields. Huge power lines tower over them, factories abut them, towns surround them, but the rice fields do not yield. Vietnam is the second biggest exporter of rice (next to Thailand), and that's after the immense amounts of rice consumed by a domestic market of 85 million people. It's a lot of rice.
And on this freezing cold, drizzling day the fields were filled with farmers bent over, tending to the plants, thigh-high in cold water and mud, both men and women, wearing conical hats and flimsy plastic ponchos as protection against the rain. All throughout my travels in Vietnam, rice fields were everywhere, filled with farmers doing the back-breaking work of tending to the crops manually. On the way back, we saw a bus that had catapulted off the road into a rice field (at this point, our guide explained that buses in Vietnam are called "flying coffins").
We reached Ha Long City, a pretty unattractive place filled with many hotels. Our guide explained the difference between European and Asian tourists: the European tourists like to sleep on the boats in the bay, while the Asian tourists like to take day trips and come back to town to do karaoke, gamble, shop and party. The port is jam-packed with tourist junks - there are literally hundreds of them jostling for space at the landing, stacked 5 or 6 deep, and even more anchored off shore. Tour guides herded groups of tourists bundled up in scarves and raincoats from mini-buses to boats.
We boarded our boat, and as we were pulling out of the harbor, I received my first surprise of the trip. I went to ask the guide about the train ticket the travel agency was supposed to book for me, and instead he told me, "Um, you signed up for the 3 day trip, but actually, you can only do a 2 day trip…"
Supposedly some people had cancelled, and since I was only one person, it was impossible to do the 3 day trip, but they would refund my money and here was the itinerary for the 2 day trip. I expressed disappointment, regret, outrage, but ultimately, considering that they had waited to tell me until I was on the boat that was chugging out of the harbor, there was nothing I could do but accept the refund and resign myself to the change in schedule. In the end, considering the weather was so miserable, it wasn't such a tragedy.
We were seven in the group. There was a French Swiss couple who spoke little English and kept explaining how they'd spent 10 days in the far North where it had been very cold and there was no heat anywhere. They were clearly tired of being cold. Then there were the Aussies: a mother and daughter pair from Alice Springs, and two thirty-something women from Sydney, who were a lot of fun.
After crossing the bay, we glided into the limestone karst forest that is Ha Long Bay - a green sea crowned by thousands of oddly shaped limestone islands, like the tops of mountains sticking out of the sea. They're uninhabitable, all sloping sides and stone, so people live on boats and in floating houses. They were cloaked in mist on this cold, grey day and there were islands as far as the eye could see. In some of the narrower passages it was as though we were in a canyon of green and stone. It was quite beautiful. I went up on the "sundeck" (I wasn't to see sun for another 2 weeks) to take photos, but the rain soon chased me inside.
It was gorgeous, but the weather was lousy. We tried to make the best of it, and six of us bravely set off in the cold drizzle to go kayaking. Our bottoms were soon soaked and frozen, and the legs and arms were next. Still, it was quite something to be so close to the water, the karst islands towering above us. Our guide led us through a small archway into a lagoon that lies in the center of an island. For a moment, it was as though we were the only people in Ha Long Bay, drifting through the mist.
But this feeling was not to last. We headed toward TiTop Island (named in honor of a Soviet astronaut who visited with Ho Chi Minh), where you can climb up to the top and get a panoramic view of the bay. According to the postcards on sale, it's quite a view on a clear day. We pulled our kayaks up on the beach. Looking around, we realized that we were the only people who looked like drowned rats. All the other visitors had arrived on very solid looking wooden launches, looked quite neat, tidy and dry. Some of the tour groups even wore matching hats and jackets.
Between the six of us, we sported bare feet, plastic ponchos, the white plastic shower sandals that are standard issue in every Vietnamese hotel, dripping wet shorts, and men's thermal underwear bottoms (that was me). We were also very wet. And lest I forget, we wore lovely bright orange life jackets (for extra warmth). Not bothering to take off the lifejackets, we made our way up the stairs as the impeccably groomed groups moved to the side and pointed and stared at us. We were clearly the comic relief for the afternoon, and as we ascended, one of us overheard someone say "Aussies for sure." As the only non-Aussie in the group, I took it as a compliment.
After we returned to the boat and had very short, semi-hot showers, we discovered the main event of the evening: Vietnamese soap operas. Our guide had told us that dinner would be at 6.30. We all arrived early and sat expectantly at our tables. 6.30 came and went, and nothing happened. Instead, the entire crew - all male, mostly quite young - sat transfixed in front of the TV that sat over the bar. No one was going anywhere, and nothing was happening in the kitchen. I sat there, hungry and cold, trying to write in my journal, with my back to the TV, until I finally gave up, turned around and started asking questions.
It turned out that it was the equivalent of the season finale, a sacred event not to be interrupted by banal activities like feeding the tourists. The heroine was running away from her arranged wedding to the grave of her dead lover, while flashbacks to happier days played. Just as the man she was supposed to marry showed up to reclaim her, the ghost of her lover flew up from the grave and swooped her into the underworld, leaving only flowers and smoke. It was far more dramatic than I describe here, but the best part was watching these young Vietnamese men completely absorbed in this romantic doomed love drama, which oddly mirrored (in a same, same but different kind of way) the romance story that brought me to Ha Long Bay in the first place. I just hadn't expected to find it on TV.
